After kicking off with a season extra—Disney’s Peter Pan, Jr.—earlier in August, the season is fully in action with it’s first official show at the end of September.
The first show, All Shook Up, is set in 1955 in a square little town in a square little state. In rides a guitar-playing young man who changes everything and everyone he meets in this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy. This show will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes! Inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley includes such classics as Heartbreak Hotel, Jailhouse Rock, and Don’t Be Cruel.
The cast of about 28 actors is hard at work learning lines, staging, and lots of music and dancing. This is a show you will want to see more than once, it’s so entertaining. And there’s an additional opportunity as there will be a Sunday matinee October 1. All Shook Up runs September 29, 30 and October 1, 6, 7, 2017
The second show of the season mixes a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel. Then add a dash of Monty Python and you have this fast-paced whodunit titled The 39 Steps! This 2-time Tony® and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by cast of four), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance! The 39 Steps runs December 8, 9, 15, 16, 2017.
And rounding out the season is a play called “the funniest farce ever written.” Noises Off presents a manic menagerie of gypsy actors rehearsing a flop called Nothing’s On. Doors slamming, on and offstage intrigue, and an errant herring all figure in the plot of this hilarious and classically comic play. Noises Off runs March 2, 3, 9, 10, 2018.
